Production Associate 1 - Glass Vertical Line

• Full-time
• Position Type: Permanent
• Shift: 1st Shift

Base Pay: $17.25 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Glass Vertical Line Operator is responsible for the fabrication and production of Insulated Glass (IG) units on the Vertical Glass Lines. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands.

• Depending on position on the Vertical Glass Line, one will place glass from cart onto vertical line conveyor, install grid into spacer or offload complete glass units onto a cart.
• Consistently hold cycle time of the line.
• Movement of carts in and out of production work area.
• Communicate quality issues observed either upstream or downstream of their position.
• Communicate mechanical issues with the machines to leadership or maintenance staff.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for the duration of entire shift.
• Must have fine motor skills. Stacking requires precision placement of spacer on the glass units and alignment of 2nd glass lite onto the spacer.
• Ability to work in tandem with another operator.
• Ability to locate minor quality defects in glass, grids, and spacers.
• Must cross-train and rotate on various workstations within line/complex.
• Ability to comprehend written work instructions, standard work, and quality documents.
• Ability to move carts of glass in and out of production areas.
• 1 - 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
