Q-Lab Corporation in Westlake, Ohio is seeking a Production Associate to operate metalworking machinery such as Mechanical Shears, Surface Grinder / Cleaner Line, Punch Presses, and related equipment. The role includes handling materials, performing quality checks, and packaging finished products.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent, experience with forklifts and basic measuring tools, and the ability to work overtime in a loud manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience operating material handling equipment including sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and jib cranes.
• Experience using basic measuring devices such as calipers, rulers, and micrometers.
• Ability to interpret basic specifications from blueprints and work instructions.
• Working knowledge of basic computer software.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for 90% of the work day.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
• Ability to work in loud conditions with hearing protection.

Responsibilities

• Operate metalworking machinery (shears, grinders, punches, brakes, rollers, sand blasters, phosphate line).
• Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes).
• Perform process line quality checks (titrations, pressures, temperatures).
• Perform physical quality checks on finished production (dimensions, surface).
• Adjust process when quality is out of spec.
• Report unusual or defective materials.
• Count sheet metal parts for packaging.
• Assemble boxes and print labels; package securely and palletize.
• Follow Lean Manufacturing 5S practices.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Q-Lab Corporation is currently seeking a Production Associate in Westlake, OH. This position will be responsible for operating metalworking machinery including but not limited to: Mechanical Shears, Surface Grinder / Cleaner Line, Punch Presses, Press Brakes, Slip Rollers, Sand Blasters, and Phosphate Line.

Responsibilities

• Operate metalworking machinery including but not limited to: Mechanical Shears, Surface Grinder / Cleaner Line, Punch Presses, Press Brakes, Slip Rollers, Sand Blasters, and Phosphate Line.
• Operate material handling equipment including sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and jib cranes.
• Perform process line quality control checks including titrations, pressure readings, and temperature readings.
• Perform physical quality control checks on finished production including length, width, surface cleanliness (water break and smut), and surface roughness.
• Make adjustments to process when quality control checks are out of specification.
• Detect and report unusual or defective materials to the supervisor
• Accurately count sheet metal parts for packaging.
• Assemble boxes for packaging and printing labels
• Packaging finished product securely into packaging, sealing, labeling, and palletizing
• Follow Lean Manufacturing 5S practices
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, including sweeping, emptying garbage and wiping down machines, cleaning process tanks.

Required Skills

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating material handling equipment including sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and jib cranes.
• Experience using basic measuring devices such as calipers, rulers, and micrometers.
• Ability to interpret basic specifications such as width and length from both blueprints and written work instructions
• Working knowledge of basic computer software
• Basic math skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for 90% of work day if needed
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as necessary
• Ability to work in loud conditions that require hearing protection

Desired Skills

• Experience operating metalworking machinery including but not limited to: Mechanical Shears, Surface Grinder / Cleaner Line, Punch Presses, Press Brakes, Slip Rollers, Sand Blasters, and Phosphate Line.
• Experience using surface roughness measuring devices.
• Experience titrating chemical baths
