Job summary

Amperesand is revolutionizing how critical power systems are built, combining solid-state transformer tech with scalable in-house manufacturing. We are seeking a Production Associate to support prototype-to-production builds for solid-state transformers in a fast-paced startup environment.

You will assemble mechanical and electromechanical subassemblies, follow precise work instructions, and maintain rigorous quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electromechanical subassemblies and final solidstate transformer units according to work instructions and engineering drawings.
• Execute daily production tasks in alignment with established production schedules and build priorities.
• Follow all quality control procedures to ensure products meet internal standards and customer requirements.
• Adhere strictly to safety policies, EHS guidelines, and proper use of PPE at all times.
• Perform material handling activities required to support assembly operations, including receiving, unpacking, staging, and moving materials using pallet jacks or other approved equipment.
• Prepare and package finished products and prepare units for internal transfer or shipment as required.
• Accurately complete production documentation, build records, and time or quantity tracking logs.
• Participate in required training to develop skills for safely building complex solid-state power hardware.
• Support quality investigations by identifying defects, documenting issues, and assisting with root cause analysis when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area in accordance with 5S or similar standards.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, engineers, and team members regarding build status, issues, or material needs.

Title: Production Associate

Company Overview: Amperesand is disrupting industrial power with the first commercialized Solid State Transformer systems. Solid State Transformers systems are much more than a transformer replacement, enabling numerous advanced features to unlock solutions for data centers, EV charging, renewables, microgrids, and industrial installations. Role Summary The Production Associate supports the execution of prototype-to-production builds for solid-state transformers in a fast-paced startup environment. This role is responsible for assembling mechanical subassemblies and completing final unit builds with a strong focus on quality and precision. The associate will follow established production processes, safety requirements, and quality standards while meeting defined production schedules. This is a highly hands-on position requiring attention to detail and the ability to work with complex electromechanical systems. On-the-job training will be provided to develop the skills needed to build advanced hardware safely and efficiently. The role is ideal for individuals who enjoy practical work and contributing directly to cutting-edge hardware development.

Qualifications:

• Comfortable working in a manufacturing or production environment with exposure to machinery, tools, and industrial equipment.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, assembly drawings, and safety procedures in English.
• Willingness and ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on the production floor.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
• Ability to follow schedules, prioritize tasks, and meet production deadlines.
• Willingness to complete required training and adapt to evolving processes and procedures.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and production needs in a fast-paced startup environment.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools or power tools safely (training provided as needed).
• Experience with hand soldering or electronic assembly, including throughhole or basic surface-mount components.
• Forklift certification or prior experience operating material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.).
• Rigging or lifting training, including experience moving heavy or oversized equipment safely.
• Familiarity with reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, or assembly documentation.
• Experience with quality systems, inspections, or documentation (e.g., travelers, checklists, or build records).
• Prior experience working in a startup, pilot line, or low-volume production environment.
• Basic troubleshooting skills and ability to identify and report build or material issues.

Please note: This role requires working on-site 5 days a week. We do not offer hybrid or remote options.

$40,000 - $56,000 USD

Compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
