Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Production Operator I (Production Associate) for its Hicksville facility. This temporary role supports production lines, monitors quality, and adheres to safety protocols.

Shifts are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with possible weekends as needed. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in cold and noisy environments with PPE provided.

Qualifications

  • 18+ years of age or older.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions; basic math.
  • Must stand for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Willing to wear PPE and follow safety protocols.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds with a partner when required.
  • Able to work in cold environments and in noisy settings.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Must pass background and fit-for-work checks.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Follow supervisor instructions to meet production demands with quality and safety.
  • Attend transfer area from filler to chiller with proper documentation.
  • Move carts of production to/from chillers (38°F) and arrange in WIP.
  • Flip trays and transfer products in chillers as needed.
  • Rework products that do not meet specifications.
  • Keep work area clean and organized per 5S program.
  • Promote a safe environment and use PPE as required.
  • Follow HACCP and GMPs and comply with procedures.
  • Assist in the Kitchen area as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate: $18.00/hour


Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Possible weekends per business needs)


We are seeking a Production Operator I (Production Associate) for our Hicksville industrial facility. This is a temporary position with immediate openings.



Essential Responsibilities


  • Follow instructions from supervisors to meet production demands while maintaining quality and safety standards.

  • Attend to the transfer area from filler to chiller, ensuring proper documentation and reporting discrepancies.

  • Move carts of production in and out of chillers (38&degree;F) and arrange them in the Work In Progress (WIP) area.

  • Flip trays and transfer products in chillers as needed.

  • Rework products that do not meet specifications.

  • Keep the work area clean and organized following the 5S program.

  • Always promote a safe work environment and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a white lab jacket, protective glasses, helmet, and shoe covers.

  • Follow HACCP principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

  • Comply with all food and personal safety procedures, company policies, and regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned, including assisting in the Kitchen area as needed.



Requirements


  • 18 years of age or older.

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions (verbal and written); possess basic math skills.

  • Must be able to stand on feet for up to 10 hours a day.

  • Comfortable wearing earplugs/hearing protection (provided) due to noise levels.

  • Able to work in cold environments and regularly go in/out of chillers (38&degree;F); jackets provided, or bring your own.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with another associate.

  • Able to wear all required PPE for duration of shift.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Able to perform frequent movement, including walking, standing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and lifting.

  • Ability to work in noisy and dusty environments, as well as temperature-controlled areas (cold/hot).



Preferred Qualifications


  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Prior food industry experience is a plus.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

  • Steel-toe shoes required (composite safety shoe covers can be provided if needed).

  • No travel required.
