Job Title: Production Assistant


Full-Time hourly position.


Location: Groton


Summary:


The Production Assistant plays a vital role in the production process, assembling products, ensuring quality, and performing administrative tasks that support the delivery of RPS's extensive product line. This role requires a strong work ethic, diligence, superior time management, and the ability to follow instructions accurately. This role will also be responsible for assisting the Production Manager with receipt of materials, work ticket processing and inventory controls. Additionally, standard warehouse duties may be required as needed.


Responsibilities:



  • Assembling products according to engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Using hand tools, power tools, and machinery to assemble parts.

  • Data entry, record keeping, validation of Bill of Materials used in product assembly.

  • Ensuring all products meet quality control standards.

  • Following safety procedures and regulations in a production environment.

  • Troubleshooting assembly issues and identifying defects.

  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

  • Operating equipment and machinery according to established procedures.

  • Preparing products for shipping or storage.

  • Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient workflow.

  • Participating in inventory control and stock management.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, associate's degree or advanced skills training preferred.

  • Ability to read and understand instructions and engineering drawings.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality awareness.

  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize work task to meet production schedules.

  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.

  • Experience with hand tools and power tools.

  • The ability to lift and move boxes and materials that may weigh up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.

  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
