Job summary

Thrift World is seeking a Production Associate in Council Bluffs, IA. This Full Time position offers hourly pay and non-exempt status, with reports to the Production Supervisor/Store Manager.

Responsibilities include processing items for sale, pricing, organizing, and preparing goods for shipping, while maintaining a clean and safe work area in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Cleaning and preparing items for the sales floor
• Sorting and pricing products
• Tagging and rolling items to the sales floor
• Consolidating goods and operating baling equipment
• Prepping and organizing products for shipping
• Packaging finished products and preparing them for shipping
• Keeping work area neat and clean
• Working safely and efficiently

Production Associate

Full Time Council Bluffs, IA, US

Salary Range: $15.50 To $15.50 Hourly

Reports to:Production Supervisor/Store Manager

WHO WE ARE

Thrift World is a retail thrift store company that promotes recycling and re-use of used clothing, accessories, and other household goods in partnership with nonprofit organizations. Thrift World began operations in 1996 in Omaha, NE. We now have 10 retail store locations spanning 3 states, an export business, and an e-commerce store.

We plan to continue growing our retail and online store presence while increasing awareness and support for our non-profit partners, diverting more waste from the landfill, and creating more local jobs.

Responsibilities for the Processing Associate include some of the following functions:

• Loading and unloading carts
• Inspecting clothes, linens, accessories and household goods
• Classifying items based upon manufacturer, quality and condition levels.
• Cleaning and preparing items for the sales floor
• Sorting and pricing products
• Tagging and rolling items to the sales floor
• Consolidating goods and operating baling equipment
• Prepping and organizing products for shipping
• Packaging finished products and preparing them for shipping
• Keeping work area neat and clean
• Working safely and efficiently

Physical Requirements

• Lifting and carrying 20 lbs.
• Reaching overhead 20% of time
• Pushing and pulling 4-6 lbs. of force (to push/pull up to 100 lbs. rolling rack)

• Repetitive use of hands 70% of time
• Bending and crouching 20% of time
• Grasping items with hands 100% of time

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to periodic temperature fluctuations

• Flexibility with schedule based up store needs and sale days

Education:
