Job summary

Owens Corning seeks a Production Associate/Technician on site in Cortland, IL. This first shift role runs Monday through Friday, 7am–3:30pm, paying $19/hr with overtime as needed. You will support the manufacturing process, including filling drums, labeling products, and may operate a forklift.

You will report to the Production Supervisor and contribute to TPM, safety training, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience or related training.
• Forklift operation experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the US.
• Drug and alcohol free; comply with safety training.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Drumming of materials and dispensing of product to meet targets.
• Label drums/totes accurately and ensure proper labeling.
• Dispense finished goods into 55 gallon drums and palletize/band drums.
• Follow loading instructions and record readings precisely.
• Assist with inventory counts and TPM/continuous improvement activities.
• Complete safety trainings and perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

The Production Associate/Technician are an hourly position, reporting to the Production Supervisor. This position is first shift Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm at $19/hr with overtime as needed. Production Associate/Technician is accountable for assisting the manufacturing process which includes filling drums, labeling products, and may include the use of a forklift.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Drumming of Materials and Dispensing of Product

• Ensure a consistent and quality product of material produced
• Procedures must be followed including exact quantities produced and dispensed.
• Proper labelling of drums / totes
• Proper dispensing of finished goods products into 55 gallon drums
• Proper palletizing and banding of drums
• Follow loading instructions
• Proper labeling of all products with production information and date
• Use of hand tools including a drum torque wrench
• Autonomously drive the process to ensure production and quality targets met on a daily basis
• Detailed organization through reading instruments and accurately recording readings
• Received adequate training and fully understand manufacturing procedures
• At times re-labeling of incoming material will be required
• Assisting with quarterly Inventory count

• Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), continuous improvement, and problem-solving activities, including supporting workplace organization, equipment care, standard work adherence, and improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

• All other duties as assigned by Leadership

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required
• 1 years of manufacturing experience or related experience and/or training in an industrial environment
• Preferred: 1 year forklift operating experience
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US
• Must be drug and alcohol free

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires:

• Standing for prolonged periods of time, over 8 hours if required
• Work overtime, as needed
