Job summary

Fortune Brands Outdoors & Security is seeking a production team member to work in a well‑maintained manufacturing environment, assembling doors and ensuring high‑quality finished products. You will operate machinery, follow 6S standards, and cross-train across assembly, prep, packing, and grain processes.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork, with opportunities for on‑the‑job growth and involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or HSE, or prior manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safe work habits and participate in safety initiatives.
  • Maintain organization of work areas following 6S.
  • Set up jobs, position work, and operate machinery.
  • Observe machine processing for proper function and quality.
  • Cross-train in multiple production functions (assemble, prep, pack, grain).
  • Notify Leader or Supervisor of improvement opportunities.
  • Perform assembly work according to standard procedures.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and quality in processes and products.
  • Communicate effectively within the production team.
  • Support safety, service, quality, and productivity objectives.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work in a well‑maintained manufacturing environment where each department specializes in assembling an aspect of the door using our sheet‑molded compound, finishing with hanging the doors in a frame and shipping high‑quality finished products to our customers.

Your Role
  • Follow safe work habits and demonstrate involvement in safety initiatives
  • Maintain good housekeeping and organization of work areas per 6S approach
  • Position work, set up jobs, adjust and operate machinery
  • Observe machine processing for proper functioning and production of products
  • Cross‑train in multiple production functions such as assemble, prep, pack, grain, etc.
  • Notify Group Leader or Supervisor of improvement opportunities
  • Perform assigned assembly work according to standard work procedures
  • Show attention to detail, accuracy and quality for the processes and products
  • Participate in effective communication within production team
  • Demonstrate job performance that supports Safety, Service, Quality & Productivity Objectives
  • Follow Company policies, procedures and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or HSE, or prior manufacturing experience
  • Ability to successfully complete pre‑employment background and drug screen
Physical Demands

Non‑Physical Demands
  • Include but are not limited to time pressures, frequent change of tasks, irregular work schedule/overtime, multi‑tasking, working closely with others as a team, and tedious or exacting work.
Work Environment
  • Work around mechanical hazards, noise and/or vibration daily. Extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity and potential outdoor work.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Computer Skills
  • Ability to run respective inventory system (Great Plains, E21, MES, etc.).
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence.
