Job summary

Hood Lumber in Bogalusa, LA is hiring entry-level production associates to support our lumber mill operations. The role focuses on cleaning designated areas, ensuring safe and efficient machinery operation, and contributing to a safe workplace.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading materials, monitoring machines, cross-training on equipment, and performing daily cleanup while adhering to safety rules and PPE requirements. Overtime and night shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and responsibly.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as required.

Position at Hood Lumber

We are hiring production positions at our lumber mill located in Bogalusa, LA. We are seeking high performing and motivated team players to join our team and grow with us. The positions are entry level positions that have opportunities for advancement. The primary purpose of a production associate is being responsible for cleaning designated areas in the production areas of lumber, bark, and sawdust using a variety of hand and mechanical tools/equipment safely and efficiently, assuring smooth and efficient machinery operation as well as providing for a safe workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Commitment to working safely and following safety rules/procedures, and environmental guidelines.
• Cross-train on production equipment.
• Load or unload materials and products from machines.
• Monitor machines to ensure continued movement of lumber and materials throughout the mill.
• Perform cleanup activities throughout the mill.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma/GED preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Perform tasks such as walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, grasping and standing for up to 12 hours per day.
• Able to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
• Able to work in extreme temperatures and dusty and noisy conditions.
• Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. throughout the work shift.

Salary Range

Salary Range: $16.67/per hour
