What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review revised page proofs to ensure all changes are accurately made for Production Editors
- Copyedit index manuscripts and proofread cover proofs as needed
- Prepare and submit applications for PCNs to the Library of Congress
- Assist in preparing delayed paperbacks and reissues, including checking files for accuracy
- Attend meetings to track publication dates and ensure related reports and distribution lists are updated

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 6 months of publishing experience or equivalent experience through internships or work-study
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to organize workflow
- Aptitude for learning copyediting rules and style
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines
- Basic computer skills such as Acrobat, Word, and Excel

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Degree from a 4-year college or university is preferred but not required
- Previous experience with Production Editorial or Editorial focus
- Demonstrated accuracy, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for collaboration and commitment to professional conduct
