Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Production Assistant-Part-Time in Ankeny, IA to support production and scheduling. The role runs Mon-Fri 8:00 am - 1:00 pm and offers benefits such as 401K match, PTO, tuition support, and employee resource groups.

You will work with ERP, print bills of lading, assist cycle counts, manage inventory adjustments, and help with shipping and other duties as needed. High school diploma and basic computer skills required; prior experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Prior experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills, with emphasis on detail.

Responsibilities

• Works within ERP system.
• Prints bill of lading and organizes paperwork for drivers.
• Supports cycle count program and works to reduce variances.
• Performs inventory adjustments and has a strong understanding of inventory quantities.
• Researches and resolves problems with finished goods reporting issues.
• Assists Shipping in allocation of stock, assigning material to orders, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining compliance with all internal procedures related to planning.
• Coordinates employee events as needed.
• Inventories office supplies and works with vendors to ensure the regular supply of office materials, including PPE
• Assists other areas with production, inspection, repair or other duties as assigned/as needed.
