PAY RATE: $25.00 PH

Responsibilities of the Class A Driver (Production Assistant 2):

  • Follow daily routing directions and avoid going off route unless directed by the Transportation Supervisor or their designee.
  • Manage your time daily to ensure the route is completed within the approved work schedule. Routes are to be 100% completed each day, unless approved otherwise.
  • Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of the assigned truck. Assist in the safe loading or unloading of other trucks as requested.
  • Train, instruct, and supervise truck helper in their Work Therapy Assignment (WTA), setting a good example in personal and professional work habits.
  • Perform Bag & Tag duties as instructed by Supervisor and procedure.
  • Represent The Salvation Army courteously to all customers and report any donor issues or concerns during donation pick-ups to the supervisor through dispatch.
  • Abide by all DOT regulations and state and local laws, maintaining a safe driving record. Attend all driver safety meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor, Director of Production, or their representatives.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class A driver’s license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Strong time management and customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate electronic route information equipment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist regularly.
  • Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects like carts, furniture, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Perform repetitive motion tasks.

Schedule:

Work schedules are flexible and determined by management. Employees may be scheduled for evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure coverage.
