Job summary

Avalon International Aluminum LLC in Oregon seeks a Production Assistant to join a family-run, fast-paced facility. The job involves manual lifting, operating basic production equipment, and moving aluminum extrusions; climate control is not provided, so physical health and reliability are essential.

You will perform duties from setup and cleanup to packaging, palletizing, and quality checks. The role offers overtime opportunities and room for advancement in a long-term, hands-on environment

Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge and ability to interpret simple drawings or specs.
• Forklift certified personnel priority; others may train.
• Proficiency with common hand tools (hammer, saw, wrenches).
• Ability to operate power tools safely and correctly.
• Experience in manufacturing settings and raw material handling.
• Basic assembly skills for components and subassemblies.
• Prior warehouse experience including stocking and material movement.

Responsibilities

• Move or lift heavy objects as part of production tasks.
• Cutting, punching, milling, bundling, boxing, and palletizing extrusions.
• Inspect products against specifications.
• Clean work areas, equipment and machinery.
• Set up and adjust production equipment.
• Monitor machinery operation for issues.
• Sort stock and materials for processing.
• Load and unload containers and pallets; forklift as needed.
• Build custom pallets and boxes; assist with finishing tasks.
• Other duties assigned by Supervisors as required.

Production Assistant

This is a long-term opportunity with advancements and overtime available. The pay range will vary depending on experience, specific job duties, and qualifications, so even if you do not have any relevant experience, please apply.
The facility is not climate controlled and hearing and eye protection are required. Manual labor consists of lifting and moving anywhere from 7'-16' aluminum extrusions so there is an importance of physical health to be suitable for this work. Reliability is also a key factor that we will be looking for as our team operates and thrives on dependability.

Job duties consist of but are not limited to the following:

• Moving or lifting heavy objects
• Cutting, Punching, Milling, Bundling, Boxing, Packaging, and Palletizing Aluminum Extrusions
• Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications
• Clean zones, work areas, equipment, or machinery
• Adjust production equipment/machinery set-up
• Monitor production machinery/equipment operation to detect problems
• Sort raw stock and manufactured materials or products
• Load, unload, or stack containers/materials and products by hand or with a forklift
• Custom Pallet Building and Box Making
• Other duties include making stock components, cleaning/hanging and powder coating of parts as well as other tasks assigned by Supervisors
