Job summary

Provisur Technologies in Illinois is seeking an experienced Production Assembler to join our team building high-speed, food-processing machines from blueprints and schematics. You will perform advanced mechanical and electrical assembly, test, troubleshoot, and ensure build integrity.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams, own equipment from assembly through testing and shipping, and contribute to continuous improvement through quality checks and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 4–8 years of experience in mechanical assembly, industrial equipment manufacturing, automotive repair, heavy equipment, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
• Specialized hands-on mechanical experience, including automotive repair; electrical experience is preferred.
• Technical school, vocational training, or relevant industry certification preferred.
• Society of Automotive Engineers certification preferred
• Advanced proficiency using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment, with the ability to measure dimensions, clearances, alignment, and work within specified tolerances.
• Proven expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Working knowledge of metrology, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
• Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Exceptional expertise using hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and electrical test equipment.
• Strong attention to quality, safety, detail, and workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced mechanical and electrical assembly of machines and peripheral equipment.
• Perform scratch builds, repair builds, rework, and other advanced assembly functions.
• Install and troubleshoot guarding, cylinders, motors, pump boxes, paperfeeds, frames, and other machine components.
• Complete machine wiring and electrical connections; build cables and wire harnesses, with opportunities to support electrical sub-panel construction as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Perform precision measurement, alignment, testing, power-up, dry-cycle, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Complete quality inspections, worksheets, checklists, and final testing to ensure equipment meets specifications.
• Take ownership of assigned equipment from assembly through testing, troubleshooting, and shipping preparation.
• Support multiple cells and equipment configurations and assist with complex production issues.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced assemblers and support Engineering, and Service as needed.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for improvements in equipment, quality, safety, cost, and efficiency.
