Position Summary:

The Assembly Operator is responsible for performing assembly tasks as part of a production line. This role requires the ability to follow detailed instructions, blueprints, and work specifications to assemble parts and products. The Assembly Operator ensures that all products meet quality and safety standards, contributing to the efficient and timely delivery of high-quality products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production orders to perform repetitive assembly operations.
  • Utilize hand tools and simple power equipment, such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, presses, and other similar tools to assemble parts.
  • Operate test equipment to check sub-assemblies for functionality; notify supervisor of any issues.
  • Perform a variety of bench operations, including assembling components like plates, springs, “O” rings, racks, and valves, using screws, nuts, gaskets, spacers, and other parts.
  • Package finished products and prepare labels as required.
  • Conduct minor setup activities for tools and equipment as needed.
  • Record production data, including job numbers, part numbers, operations performed, and quantities completed, accurately in the computer system.
  • Report defective materials, incomplete operations, or unusual conditions to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to 5S standards.
  • Follow safety guidelines and practices according to company policies.
  • Participate in quality checks and adhere to procedures for non-conforming parts.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork by collaborating with colleagues to achieve production goals.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Participate in special projects and complete additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1–3 months related experience in assembly or manufacturing preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; develop alternative solutions as needed.
    • Maintain composure under pressure and demonstrate effective communication skills.

Working Conditions:

This position operates within a manufacturing plant environment. The role involves interactions with employees and managers. The job requires repetitive assembly, standing, and ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Starting Pay Rate: $16/hour

Shift Differential: $2/hour

Shift: 3rd

Standard Shift Hours: 9pm-5am
