Eaton's ES AMER ESS division in Santa Ana, CA is hiring a Production Assembler for 1st shift. The role runs 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with a 40-hour work week and potential overtime, full benefits, and a 401(k) plan from day one.

Responsibilities

• Build sub-assemblies and assemblies to customer specifications including complex wiring and mechanics for PDU and transformers.
• Follow SOPs to assemble, inspect, and adjust components.
• Operate cranes to move transformers and materials.
• Perform point-to-point wiring and work with sheet metal for transformer parts.
• Inspect completed assemblies and ensure quality; maintain 5S+ housekeeping.
• Use fixtures, gauges, hand tools, and power tools; calibrate machines as needed.
• Adhere to safety rules and offer process improvement ideas.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you'll doThe Assembler will timely and accurately build sub-assemblies and assemblies to customer specifications involving complex and repetitive wiring and mechanics for Power Distribution Units (PDU) and transformers.In this function you will:• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to build sub-assemblies and assemblies.• Use cranes to pick up and move transformers and materials.• Be responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly.• Use various fixtures, gauges, hand tools, and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair product.• Perform point-to-point wiring during the assembly of Power Distribution Units.• Work with sheet metal to build transformer legs and additional components related to transformer assembly.• Ability to operate oven and VPI tanks as part of the assembly process• Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and make necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goals.• Adhere to company, environmental, health, and safety rules and regulations.• Provide process and safety improvement ideas.• Ensure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S+.Qualifications:Required (Basic)• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.• 1 year of assembly experiencePreferred• Experience in production, packaging, or construction.• Previous experience with standard operating procedures.• Previous experience with product electrical assembly, maintenance, and/or repair.• Basic working knowledge of and experience with computers.Skills:• Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.• Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures, wiring diagrams, and bills of material.• Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, with willingness to flex/train in different areas as needed.• Ability to lift, push, and pull 40 lbs.• Ability to use a crane once fully trained to lift items.• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
