Job summary

HANSEN Technologies in Commerce, GA is seeking a dedicated assembler to join our manufacturing team. You will plan assembly steps, position parts from blueprints, fasten components, install moving parts, and verify operation of the valve and control systems to ensure quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience.
• Ability to read simple instructions and write basic correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small-group settings.
• Ability to follow written/verbal/diagram instructions and solve routine problems.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Ability to perform all essential duties reliably and safely.
• Commitment to safety including PPE and required training.

Responsibilities

• Plan assembly steps and position parts using blueprints and product knowledge.
• Remove material to clean parts or ensure proper fit.
• Fasten components using bolts, screws, clips, rivets, or other hardware.
• Install moving parts and confirm they operate smoothly; install piping or wiring as needed.
• Align and connect the control valve to the assembled system.
• Test, or assist in testing, the finished product.
• Pack and label products according to customer requirements.
• Maintain safety and proper lifting techniques; adhere to company policies.

What You’ll Do

• Plan assembly steps and position parts using product knowledge, specifications, and blueprints


• Remove small amounts of material to clean parts or ensure proper fit


• Fasten components using bolts, screws, clips, rivets, or other hardware


• Install moving parts and confirm they operate smoothly; install piping or wiring as needed


• Align and connect the control valve to the assembled system


• Test, or assist in testing, the finished product


• Pack and label products according to customer requirements


• Regularly stand while performing job duties


• Use hands frequently for handling, adjusting, or assembling parts; reach with hands and arms


• Walk, sit, talk, and hear regularly


• Lift or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 35 pounds occasionally


• Maintain required vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception


• Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience


• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; able to write basic correspondence


• Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small-group settings with customers, clients, and coworkers


• Ability to follow written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions and solve routine problems involving multiple concrete variables


• Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret bar graphs


• Ability to perform all essential job duties reliably and effectively


• Commitment to safety, including wearing safety glasses and steel-toed shoes, completing forklift training when required, using proper lifting techniques, participating in hazard-communication training, and understanding emergency procedures
