Job description

SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Production and Test Technician I.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking an early career Production and Test Technician with 1 year of relevant experience at their Groton, Connecticut facility. The ideal candidate will have a high level of mechanical aptitude and 1 year of basic electronics experience in the workforce or be able to show equivalent education from a technical school or college program. Candidates must possess the ability to work alone or as a member of a team and be a self-starter when required. This position will be primarily focused on mechanical assembly activities, and basic electrical testing and troubleshooting may be required.

Job Responsibilities
  • Mechanical assembly and basic electrical testing in accordance with established work routers and test procedures.
  • Generate and upload digital test datasheets for engineering review.
  • Occasionally assist senior technicians with various tasks.
  • Work directly with engineering staff to solve more complex problems as necessary.
  • Suggest improvements to documentation and processes as needed to increase efficiency.
Qualifications

Education: Highschool or technical school diploma/GED.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of electronics experience or equivalent education. Ability to obtain and maintain DoD secret level security clearance.

Ideal Skills and Experience:

  • Basic working knowledge of electrical systems/circuits and theory.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend and adhere to detailed documentation and drawings/schematics.
  • Be able to demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to continue following documentation after becoming familiar with processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work professionally with a wide array of personality types.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD secret level security clearance.

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Electronics Assembly and Testing Laboratory - Sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Significant use of small hand and electrical tools that require fine motor skills. Significant use of computers, including use of a mouse and keyboard as well as viewing computer screens. Occasional lifting <40 lbs.; infrequent lifting of <40lbs., occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling and squatting. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions for temperature and lighting, with some potential exposure to fumes associated with soldering. Personal Protective Equipment: safety glasses and safety shoes recommended.
