Job summary

Sonoco is seeking a Production and Maintenance Technician Apprentice in Chestnut Hill, TN on 12-hour rotating shifts (4 on, 4 off). Starting pay is $31.87 per hour. This apprenticeship guides you from Production Associate to Assembly Mechanic, with hands-on maintenance and quality checks.

You'll perform preventative maintenance, operate and repair equipment, document tasks, and support safety policies. Previous industrial or military experience in troubleshooting is a plus; lifting up to 50 lbs

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial environment or military experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial and motor controls a plus but not required.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a rotating shift, OT including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Own and follow Safety policies and procedures.
• Complete training from positions of Production Associate to Assembly Mechanic.
• Perform preventative maintenance on a monthly basis.
• Operate, adjust, and repair equipment; perform quality checks.
• Inspect in-process and finished products; record keeping of tasks.
• Supply and maintain required hand tools; clean-up, painting, and housekeeping.
