Shield AI is seeking a Production Engineering Technician to lead VBAT production training, drive continuous improvement, and establish data-driven systems for safety, quality, and scale. You will own the training program, build dashboards, and apply lean methods to optimize throughput and workforce capability.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing or technical support in aerospace/defense environments, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Systems Engineering or Data Analytics, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in manufacturing or technical support in aerospace/defense hardware.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Palantir, Tableau, Cognos, or MS Access).
• Lean manufacturing proficiency (5S, visual management, standard work, root-cause analysis, waste reduction).
• Ability to translate feedback into structured problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Own VBAT production training program onboarding, role-based training, and qualification records.
• Develop classroom, workstation, and on-the-job training for assembly, production, and test processes.
• Lead lean initiatives (5S, visual management, standard work) to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Use data and metrics to identify bottlenecks, defects, downtime, and capacity gaps.
• Lead CCAR process and Manufacturing Council to drive closed-loop improvements.
• Build a data-driven operating model with dashboards and metrics.
• Support ramp planning and measurable gains with capacity and staffing analyses.
