Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist - AI/ML Specialist to design and deploy production-grade AI/ML systems for national security investigations in Fairfax, VA.

You will work within a technical team to deliver AI solutions that meet rigorous federal standards and governance. Responsibilities include developing explainable AI with human-in-the-loop oversight, building analytics models, and ensuring data provenance and secure data handling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Data Science, CS, AI, stats, engineering)
• 5+ years in a Data Science role
• 2+ years in AI/ML with production systems
• Proficiency with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and DL architectures
• Expert Python with Pandas, NumPy, Spark
• Experience deploying production AI systems at scale
• Experience with on-premise infrastructure and data centers
• Deep knowledge of explainable AI techniques (SHAP, LIME)
• Knowledge of MLOps, versioning, CI/CD, and workflows
• Willing to work onsite in Fairfax, VA
• Active Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

• Design and implement production AI/ML systems compliant with federal governance
• Develop explainable AI solutions with human-in-the-loop oversight
• Build ML models for investigative analytics (entity resolution, network analysis, anomaly detection)
• Develop scalable data pipelines and ETL with Airflow and Spark
• Design databases for AI training and real-time inference
• Implement monitoring for bias, performance, and security
• Support AI Use Case approvals, ATO, and risk management
• Document architecture, data flows, and model explanations for audits
• Integrate AI with existing systems via APIs and microservices
• Ensure data provenance and lawful data acquisition
• Collaborate with software engineers, infrastructure, and cyber security
• Communicate model decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Maintain compliance with AI Security Baseline and governance frameworks
• Share knowledge and contribute to team initiatives
