Job summary

Elios AI is seeking Forward Deployed Engineers to design and deploy production AI systems in client environments. You will translate ambiguous business problems into scalable, end-to-end solutions integrating LLMs, data infrastructure, and automated workflows.

You will work directly with stakeholders in Houston and other client sites, iterating in live environments. The role requires 3–8+ years of software engineering experience and strong Python/TypeScript skills.

Qualifications

• 3–8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience building distributed systems, APIs, and data-intensive applications.
• Hands-on experience with AI prompts, evaluation, and LLM orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy LLM-powered applications using APIs and open-source models.
• Build agent-based systems and multi-step workflows with memory and state management.
• Develop evaluation pipelines for non-deterministic outputs and guardrails.
• Create scalable data pipelines (batch + streaming) using Airflow, Kafka, and similar tools.
• Design data models and integrate structured/unstructured sources; work with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Postgres.
• Build backend services and APIs (Python, FastAPI, Node.js, TypeScript) and deploy with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and versioning for models, prompts, and workflows.
