Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a software engineer to design, build, and ship production AI features within DIMS, the Innovation Hub's platform for managing faculty research Discovery Tracks.

You will work with product owners, developers, designers, and external collaborators to translate requirements into working, auditable AI capabilities, focusing on reliable, maintainable code and measurable agent behavior.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 4 years professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python with working knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience building and shipping production applications that integrate large language models.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and ships production AI features within DIMS.
• Develops end-to-end AI agents, prompts, and tool orchestration.
• Integrates large language models and services via APIs (Azure OpenAI).
• Creates data pipelines grounding AI features in institutional data.
