Nidec is seeking a Product Training Specialist to develop and deliver technical training for internal and external audiences in North America. You will translate complex motor and drive technologies into practical learning materials and sessions, supporting product launches and customer education.

With 7+ years in technical training and a related degree, you’ll collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to enhance knowledge management and adoption of our drive systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical training or related technical role.
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation, motion control, motors, drives, and gearing products.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience creating technical documentation and training materials.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, PowerPoint; LMS experience preferred.

This includes supporting new product launches, updating existing product training materials, conducting instructor-led training sessions, and helping to improve technical competency across commercial and customer organizations. This role serves as a key contributor to product launch readiness, sales enablement, customer education, and technical knowledge management. Core Objective: Enable successful product adoption and customer success by delivering effective, engaging, and technically accurate product training programs that improve knowledge, confidence, and capability.**RSESPONSIBILITIES** **Product Training Development**· Develop and maintain training materials for motors, drives, gearing products, and integrated drive system solutions.· Create instructor-led presentations, training guides, application notes, videos, demonstrations, and learning modules.· Translate technical product information into easy-to-understand training content.· Ensure training content remains current with product updates and enhancements.**New Product Launch Support**· Support development and deployment of training programs for new product launches.· Partner with Product Managers and Engineering teams to understand new technologies, features, and applications.· Develop product launch training materials, knowledge assessments, and training aids.· Ensure commercial teams are prepared to effectively position and support new products.**Internal Sales & Commercial Training**· Deliver technical product training to Sales, Business Development, Marketing, and Customer Support teams.· Support onboarding programs for new employees.· Conduct virtual and in-person instructor-led training sessions.· Reinforce product positioning, application knowledge, competitive differentiators, and customer value propositions.Customer & Channel Partner Training· Conduct technical product training for customers, distributors, system integrators, and channel partners.· Support customer workshops, demonstrations, and technical seminars.· Assist customers with understanding product capabilities, configuration, and application best practices.· Support field training activities during major product launches and strategic customer opportunities.**Training Content Management**· Maintain technical training libraries, training databases, and learning materials.· Organize and manage training documentation for easy accessibility.· Coordinate updates to training materials as products evolve.· Support creation of product certifications and structured learning paths.Cross-Functional Collaboration· Collaborate with Product Management to ensure alignment with product strategy and roadmap priorities.· Work closely with Engineering and Application Engineering teams to maintain technical accuracy.· Support Sales and Marketing initiatives through training events and product education activities.· Gather and communicate feedback regarding training effectiveness and product understanding.**Training Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement**· Collect participant feedback and training performance metrics.· Identify opportunities to improve training materials and delivery methods.· Track completion rates and learning outcomes.· Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance learning effectiveness.**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES**· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Education, Business, Communications, or related field required.· 7+ years of experience in technical training, application engineering, product support, product management, sales enablement, or a related technical role.· Strong understanding of industrial automation, motion control systems, motors, drives, and gearing products.· Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.· Strong presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills.· Experience creating technical documentation and training materials.· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, PowerPoint, and virtual training platforms.· Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools preferred.· Strong organizational and project management skills.· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.· Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills.· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
