Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. in Newport News, VA, seeks an experienced training professional to plan, develop, and coordinate in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers.

You will prepare materials, deliver sessions, and evaluate training effectiveness, updating lesson plans to reflect new requirements. A Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of related experience is required; Master’s with 4 years is acceptable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master’s Degree and 4 years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent to Bachelor's Degree may be used: Associate's Degree with 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years relevant non-exempt experience; Military Paygrade E-5 or above; High School/GED with 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience; High School/GED with 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, and coordinates in-house product training programs for field support personnel and customers.
• Prepares training materials; develops course content; determines methodology; coordinates development of training aids.
• Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
• Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
