Job summary

RTX is seeking a Production Test Engineer to support hardware test activities across the product life cycle, from development to production. You will troubleshoot hardware, develop test flows, and manage test equipment and obsolescence plans.

The role requires a STEM degree with at least two years of relevant experience, and the ability to obtain ATF access. This on-site position offers relocation eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and provides accurate rework instructions for the product hardware.
  • Creation and maintenance of spares and the test equipment obsolescence plan.
  • Creation of Basis of Estimates (BOE) to estimate costs to add capacity, new capabilities and equipment obsolescence.
  • Leads projects to reduce test time and improve test process using predictive metrics.
  • Develop test flows and contribute to test capacity analysis.
  • Maintain changes to test equipment DDP including drawings, instructions, manuals, and system software.
  • Assist in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of product or test equipment.
  • Lead root cause and corrective action investigations and present findings.
  • Performs risk assessments and supports program risk reviews.
  • Leads projects and is responsible for execution.
  • Multitask in a fast-paced environment

Production Test Engineers(PTE)are part of a manufacturing team who supportthetest process through one or more phases of the product life cycle, including product development, transition to production, sustained production and depot activities.PTE validatesandensurescomplianceof the prime hardwareto technical data package requirementsand supporting test equipment.Performstroubleshooting and problem solving of test failures.Identifiesopportunitiesin test processes to improve efficiency, yields, and capacity.

What You Will Do

  • Develop test flows and contribute to test capacity analysis.
  • Maintain changes to the test equipment technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, and system software.
  • Assist in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of the product or test equipment.
  • Lead root cause and corrective action investigations and present findings, utilizing fault trees and knowledge point plans.
  • Performs risk assessments and supports the programs risk register reviews.
  • Leads projects and is responsible for execution.
  • Multitask in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience with electrical/electronic testing
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF).

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
