Job summary

Sealed Air is seeking a Product Technology Engineer to improve manufacturing processes and deliver innovative, high-quality products. You will collaborate with R&D, Operations, Commercial, and Manufacturing to develop new processes, qualify materials, drive cost and quality improvements, and support commercialization across extrusion, printing, and converting technologies.

This role emphasizes cross-functional teamwork, data-driven decision-making, and driving efficiency to enhance profitability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (required).
• Experience with extrusion, printing, laminating, web converting, and pouch/bag manufacturing.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and techniques.
• Project management skills across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Experience in process engineering or product development.
• Familiarity with DOE, Lean Six Sigma, SPC (preferred).
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a matrix organization.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement improved manufacturing methods to deliver high-quality products to customers.
• Lead the qualification of alternative resins and raw materials to support cost savings and supply continuity.
• Drive product line extensions and partner with R&D to commercialize innovative products.
• Collaborate with customers, R&D, business leaders, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and identify value-added opportunities.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives and identify profitability improvements.
• Serve as technical lead for quality projects and manufacturing troubleshooting using data-driven decisions.
• Stay current on plastics extrusion and web converting technologies and share best practices across sites.
• Manage cross-functional projects spanning multiple plants.
