Job summary

Hawthorne Cat is seeking a results-driven professional to influence sales of parts and service for Caterpillar earthmoving equipment across the territory. You will build strong customer relationships, inform clients about ongoing services and campaigns, and partner with customers to identify improvements and implement solutions.

Ideal candidates have experience in product support or related industries, strong communication skills, and a proactive, organized approach to achieving growth targets.

POSITION SUMMARY: Influence sales of parts and service of Caterpillar Earthmoving and other related products throughout the territory. Build relationships with customers and keep them informed of ongoing services and specials. Through consultative action, partner with our customers to identify improvements and implement solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prospect and develop assigned accounts and provide parts and service to meet customer needs.
  • Develop business opportunities for all assigned accounts, provide quotes and close sales.
  • Extensive knowledge of customer’s and territory (including financial status and past sales volume) enough to forecast growth potential, select target accounts, and identify need for alternative solutions.
  • Introduction of Hawthorne’s parts and service capabilities to all customers and effectively market/communicate offerings and campaigns that position Hawthorneas the clear Product Support choice.
  • Devise, forecast and create a business plan for assigned territory or customers.
  • Makes routine sales calls on customers in assigned markets and provide timely and accurate proposals for parts and service.
  • Assist customers in selection of programs that will insure maximum life cycle of their equipment.
  • Build competitive intelligence: Collect, analyze, and evaluate competitive activity in your assigned territory.
  • Provide coordination between customers and said departments to provide best possible service.
  • Maintain customer contact information, sales call reports and weekly call planners.
  • Able to measure and perform on annual growth targets for assigned territory with a deep understanding of book of business.
  • Perform any job that may be assigned as necessary to meet the company, department or individual goals and objectives.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Preferred minimum of five years in a product support environment or related industry with experience in customer service.
  • Must have ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter.
  • Must be organized and a good planner.
  • Ability to set and meet goals.
