A leading company is seeking a technical sales representative to support customers in the parts and service sales territory. The successful candidate will carry out various duties including providing on-site technical support, nurturing sales leads, and maintaining customer relationships. This role requires an individual with experience in heavy mobile equipment and excellent interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

Job description

Description

Represents Mega Corp’s Product Support and Sales Group to customers and other businesses within a parts and service sales territory by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides sales and marketing departments with territory service needs and sales leads information.
  • Provide customers with on-site technical support and training for prime product installations.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of technical publications libraries.
  • Travels throughout all territories to call on and sell all prime product parts, service and related products.
  • Responsible for assisting in executing sales plans to include cold calling, and site visits.
  • Works as liaison between MEGA functional departments and customers for service repairs, modifications, parts returns and warranty issues.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. Works with accounting department on required paperwork.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions, trip reports and monitors expense accounts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

2-5 years’ of experience working on heavy mobile equipment in the construction and/or mining industry. This includes working on system hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and control systems.

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write and edit routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • The employee must have good public contact and interpersonal skills and conduct oneself in a manner that is professional and business-like at all times.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid New Mexico Class D or higher driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record report.
