Job summary

Fabick Cat is seeking a results-driven sales professional to manage and grow Earthmoving equipment accounts in the Madison, WI region. You will serve as a primary contact, understand client fleet needs, and tailor parts, service, and product support solutions to improve uptime and profitability.

You will travel within the territory, build trusted customer relationships, and collaborate with Parts, Service, and Sales teams to win new business and expand existing accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equal recent experience in machinery industry.
• 1–3 years outside sales experience, preferably with machinery.
• 3–5 years sales and/or heavy equipment product support experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build trusted customer relationships by serving as a strategic product support advisor and primary point of contact for Earthmoving customers, contractors, and end users.
• Understand the customer’s business and fleet needs and recommend tailored parts, service, technology, and product support solutions that improve equipment uptime, performance, and operating costs.
• Grow the business by developing existing accounts, identifying new opportunities, and expanding Customer Service Agreements, parts, service, and other aftermarket solutions.
• Drive customer value and revenue through proactive account management, fleet reviews, equipment inspections, and identification of opportunities that keep customers productive and profitable.
• Become a trusted partner to your customers, anticipating their needs and helping them make informed decisions about equipment maintenance, repairs, parts, and long‑term fleet support.
• Collaborate across the branch and organization to deliver an exceptional customer experience, partnering with Parts and Service Managers, Sales, Technicians, and other branch personnel to develop solutions and win new business.
• Own customer issues from start to finish, coordinating internal resources to resolve concerns quickly while strengthening the customer relationship.
• Prospect for new business and expand Fabick Cat’s presence within your assigned territory by developing relationships with contractors, fleet owners, and other equipment users.
• Stay connected to your market and customers, identifying changing business needs, upcoming fleet requirements, and opportunities for Fabick Cat to provide additional value.
• Represent the Fabick Cat brand in the field through professional, responsive, and solutions‑focused customer interactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equal recent working experience in the machinery industry.
• 1-3 years of outside sales experience and/or training required, preferably with industry experience
• 3-5 years of sales and or extensive heavy equipment Product Support experience with Earth moving equipment preferred.
• Must demonstrate good problem‑solving skills, mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills -- both oral and written, good work habits, above average math, science, and English skills, the ability to read and interpret schematics, self‑motivation and a desire to perform at one's highest level.
• Proficiency with computers and aspects of Microsoft office desired.
• Must be able to work extended days and travel within an assigned territory to visit customers when required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• A strong sense of urgency is required as well as the ability to prioritize and manage projects simultaneously.
• This individual should preferably live within the Madison designated territory.

Physical Requirements:

In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: work in all types of weather (extreme heat and cold), climb up and down on heavy equipment, travel > 50% of the time, lifting 50lbs or less, significant time spent working on a computer and traveling long distances.
