Job summary

Southern Company Services seeks an experienced Product Specific Technologist / Developer Support Analyst to advance enterprise adoption of AI coding assistants, focusing on GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.

This role blends software development consulting, developer enablement, technical support, platform administration, and AI-assisted development. You will help teams plan, code, test, and automate CI/CD workflows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant software development, developer tooling, DevOps, or platform technology experience.
• Strong software development and SDLC knowledge.
• Professional experience with GitHub Copilot or comparable AI coding assistants.
• Strong knowledge of GitHub, Git, repositories, pull requests, permissions, and CI/CD.
• Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise technology platforms.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, secure coding, testing, and maintainability.
• Excellent technical writing, communication, consultation, and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and consultation for GitHub Copilot users.
• Troubleshoot access, configuration, IDE integration, authentication, networking, and unexpected AI behavior.
• Promote responsible adoption of AI coding assistants across developer teams.
• Develop reusable prompts, skills, agents, templates, scripts, and technical guidance.
• Support administration of coding-assistant platforms, including licensing, policies, integrations, and usage controls.
• Perform root cause analysis and coordinate technical escalations.
• Help development teams integrate AI assistants into software development and CI/CD processes.
• Create onboarding materials, demonstrations, FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.
• Deliver developer workshops, office hours, coaching, and product-adoption support.
• Evaluate new AI coding tools, models, integrations, and features.
• Promote secure coding, human review, testing, data protection, and compliance standards.

Job Summary
