About the role

We’re on the lookout for a Product Specialist to take ownership of Halter’s product and associated development projects in the U.S. You’ll work closely with the Halter HQ in New Zealand, the commercial team in the U.S. and our ranchers to ensure the Halter product is delivering undeniable value.

Halter is one of the world’s fastest-growing agritech companies, and the most transformative technology available in pasture-based grazing. With Halter’s cattle collars and app, ranchers can virtually fence and shift their cattle, as well as proactively monitor cattle locations and behavior.

We are looking for big thinkers who know how to get stuff done. We’re looking for people who are natural problem-solvers and are comfortable working in a dynamic, high-energy environment where they will be challenged on a daily basis. Our ideal person for this role is someone who is committed to deeply understanding our product and customers' needs. Above all else, you will care about our cattle and customers and champion their interests across Halter.

Travel will be required in this role.

What your day could look like:

  • Spending time on ranch with customers to figure out what we need to improve, fix, or build next to ensure that ranchers get the most value out of Halter.

  • Working closely with our product and engineering teams; providing input and feedback to make sure that Halter is always working on the most important projects and that we build what our ranchers need.

  • Leading projects to enable continuous innovation and expansion of the product, from design to execution to conclusion.

  • Sharing in-depth knowledge and context about U.S. ranches, animals and virtual fencing throughout Halter.

  • Partnering with our Territory managers to maintain strong alignment.

  • Critically thinking about the product end-to-end to proactively and reactively start initiatives valuable for our ranchers’ and their cattle.

  • Working with strategic customers to make sure they are fully utilizing the product and receiving value.

  • Other tasks from time to time to ensure the ultimate success of Halter in the U.S.

What we are looking for:
  • Interest in agri-tech, being tech-savvy and not afraid of learning our product's inner details and functionality.

  • Ranching experience is a must-have and be passionate about animals and the future of agriculture.

  • A phenomenal attitude and a team player with the ability to consistently overcome challenges.

  • Experience in leading cross-functional projects or running research trials.

  • Fast learner who is motivated to work hard and learn with a team doing things that have never been done before.

  • Proven ability to think critically about a problem and reach strong, innovative conclusions.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy and resilient & comfortable with ambiguity.

  • Willing to travel for work (domestic and international) as well as weekends.

  • A 'get stuff done' attitude!
