Job summary

Forbes Technical Consulting in Chicago/NYC is seeking a Product Manager to own delivery of the clearing system, regulatory reporting, and post-trade features for listed and cleared derivatives.

You will partner with Risk on margin engine configuration, collateral valuation, and settlement workflows, maintain data models for trade settlement and reporting, and support member portals and API integrations while conducting market research and writing functional specs for engineering.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of product management experience in capital markets.
• Strong grasp of post-trade lifecycle for derivatives.
• Familiarity with FCMs and DCMs/DCOs integration.
• Experience with regulatory reporting frameworks (CFTC, SEC, EMIR).
• Comfort with SQL and Python for data validation and requirements.
• Knowledge of modern microservices and event-driven architectures.

Job description

Location: Chicago, IL OR NYC - this role requires 3 days per week in office

*Not eligible for visa sponsorship OR C2C

Responsibilities

Product Development

• Own delivery of clearing system, regulatory reporting, and post-trade features for listed/cleared derivatives
• Partner with Risk on margin engine configuration, collateral valuation, and settlement workflows
• Maintain data models for trade settlement, position management, and transaction reporting
• Support clearing member portal and third-party integrations (FIX, APIs, Kafka)
• Conduct market/competitive research to inform roadmap
• Write functional specs (APIs, workflows, data schemas) for engineering

Customer Support

• Serve as primary technical/product contact for owned features
• Ensure service quality and issue resolution
• Support customer onboarding and API conformance

Qualificatio ns

• 3-5 years of product management experience in capital markets, specifically clearing/transaction processing systems
• Strong grasp of the post-trade lifecycle for derivatives (futures, options, swaps, or prediction markets)
• Familiarity with FCMs and their integration with DCMs/DCOs
• Experience with regulatory reporting frameworks (CFTC, SEC, EMIR) and financial system auditing
• Comfort querying/analyzing data independently (SQL, Python) to validate systems and write data-driven requirements
• Familiarity with modern architecture patterns (microservices, event-driven systems, distributed ledgers)
