Job Description

Job Title: Product Security Engineer

Working Pattern: Full-time

Working location: Indianapolis, IN

As a Product Security Engineer, you will be responsible for securing a range of Rolls-Royce products against evolving security threats such as cyber and supply chain risks.

You may be involved at any stage of the project lifecycle, from concept development, design, and integration, to testing and final production release. You will typically work in cross-functional teams with colleagues from other engineering disciplines.

What you will be doing
  • Contribute to the Secure Cyber Resilient Engineering (SCRE) of products, applying technical knowledge throughout the product lifecycle, often using Model Based Engineering tools.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, guidelines, tools, and training.
  • Participate in security lifecycle activities, including regulatory certification/qualification (e.g., RMF, ED-202A / DO-326A, IEC 62443).
  • Collaborate with government, customers, suppliers, and industry experts to meet system requirements.
  • Provide feedback on security best practices and disseminate knowledge across the organization.
  • Work across multiple business functions, including software, hardware, maintenance, manufacturing, and corporate teams.

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Software, Controls, Systems, or Cybersecurity engineering with 1+ years of experience, OR
  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, OR
  • JD/PhD, OR
  • Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance.
Preferred Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience in Product Security Engineering on real-time cyber-physical embedded systems, OR 2+ years in related engineering roles.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering on complex systems and strong systems thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience with security policies and standards like NIST SP 800-160, IEC 62443, DO-326, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to influence and explain complex ideas clearly.
