Job summary

Melaleuca, based at the Global Headquarters in Idaho Falls, Idaho, seeks a Scientist – Product Safety to apply toxicology and health risk assessment to ensure the safety of ingredients and products throughout their lifecycle.

You will collaborate with Product Safety leadership and partners across R&D, Regulatory, Quality, and Clinical Research to evaluate evidence, assess exposure, identify risks, and translate scientific findings into actionable recommendations supporting product innovation and

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or closely related field.
• Ph.D. with 0–3 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 2–5 years in toxicology, product safety, risk assessment, or related field.
• Strong foundation in toxicology, including hazard, dose, exposure, and risk relationships.
• Ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and toxicological data and develop evidence-based conclusions.
• Strong scientific writing, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced development environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess product safety using toxicological data, literature, exposure information, and other evidence.
• Evaluate risk and exposure to characterize hazards and determine safe use conditions.
• Interpret scientific literature and data with weight-of-evidence approaches to identify gaps and conclusions.
• Enable product innovation by advising on testing and risk mitigation from concept to commercialization.
• Support post-market safety by evaluating adverse events and safety signals.
• Communicate findings in clear, defensible safety documentation for technical and non-technical partners.
