Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of P&C insurance accounting and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience with data validation, cleansing, and lineage.
  • Proficiency with data tools and reporting platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with insurance-specific systems (e.g., underwriting platforms, claims systems, general ledger).
  • Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in regulatory and business reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and validate monthly product-level financial reports (by line of business, policy type, geographic segment).
  • Perform variance analysis on premium, loss, and expense metrics.
  • Reconcile product data across underwriting, claims, and accounting systems.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements (state insurance department filings, NAIC standards).
  • Validate source data accuracy and completeness.
  • Document data definitions, calculation logic, and metric standards to ensure consistency across reporting periods and users.
  • Identify inefficiencies in reporting workflows; recommend process redesigns and technology solutions (e.g., workflow automation, AI-augmented analytics) to improve accuracy and timeliness.
  • Participate in implementation of new systems, tools, and governance frameworks; support change management and adoption.

What You’ll Bring
Minimum Qualifications
  • Solid understanding of P&C insurance accounting (premium recognition, loss reserves, reinsurance accounting)
  • Competency in data validation, cleansing, and lineage; ability to identify and document data quality issues
  • Proficiency with data tools and reporting platforms
  • Hands-on experience with insurance-specific systems (e.g., underwriting platforms, claims systems, general ledger)
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend tools that optimize reporting efficiency and quality
  • Critical thinking to question assumptions, validate results, and recommend process improvements
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in high-stakes regulatory and business reporting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, or related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in insurance finance, product reporting, or financial analytics
  • Knowledge of P&C insurance products and underwriting/claims processes
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting (state filings, NAIC, GAAP compliance)
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls; and talk or hear.
