Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a Product Process Specialist to oversee designated manufacturing processes in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will coordinate engineering, tooling and quality changes, drive safety and cost initiatives, and mentor team members in SIS problem solving and corrective action implementation.

You will interface with AME, Program Management, Product Engineering and Supplier Quality to ensure build requirements and drive product changes to improve quality across shifts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline and/or 3+ years in manufacturing processes, tooling, quality control, and SPC.
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as needed.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills across all plant levels.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with leadership and customers.
  • Self-starter with team leadership ability.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise bargaining unit employees directly.
  • Manage Process Sheets in AMPS and standardize processes across shifts.
  • Analyze quality data and recommend improvements.
  • Lead part/process changes affecting the floor.
  • Audit process parameters and optimize using CP-CPK insights.
  • Root-cause dimensional issues to improve quality metrics.
  • Identify and handle non-conforming parts.
  • Collaborate with team leaders, engineers, and others in CI activities.
  • Lead kaizen projects focused on Safety, Cost, Quality and throughput.

Job description

The Product Process Specialist will be responsible for managing designated manufacturing processes in a fast paced, high volume, unionized, manufacturing environment. The Product Process Specialist (PPS) will be responsible for ensuring conformance of processes and coordinating engineering, tooling and quality changes in their assigned area/department. The selected candidate will coordinate all safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale initiatives. Provide coaching and mentoring to team members (both bargaining unit and supervisory) regarding SIS techniques for problem solving and corrective action implementation. The PPS will interface with AME, Program Management, Product Engineering and Supplier Quality to assure compliance to build requirements as well as to drive product changes necessary to improve quality.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for direct supervision of bargaining unit employees
  • Manage Process Sheets through Advanced Manufacturing Planning System (AMPS), propose modifications and guarantee process standardization across all shifts
  • Analyze quality data, prioritize issues based on quality data and provide recommendations for improvement to the team
  • Manage and lead part/process changes that affect the floor
  • Audit and manage process parameters and identify optimal strategy based on CP-CPK results
  • Root cause vehicle dimensional parameter issues to improve quality metrics
  • Ensure non-conforming parts are identified and processed
  • Collaborate with team leaders, engineers and other roles in continuous improvement activities
  • Actively participate and lead kaizen project activities centered on Safety, Cost, Quality and throughput improvements and waste reduction opportunities identified through cost deployment
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical/engineering discipline; or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with manufacturing processes, tooling, quality control methods and statistical process control (SPC)
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
  • Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as required
  • Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
  • Goal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teams
  • Ability to coach/mentor/develop team members
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing supervisory experience
  • Previous experience working in a union environment
  • Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
  • Ability to read, interpret, understand engineering documents, technical standards and design specifications
  • Familiar with World Class Manufacturing pillar methodology and implementation
