Job summary

JMJ PHILLIP in Manchester, CT seeks a Product Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, driving quality and productivity across cross-functional teams.

You will support product launches, validate processes, reduce waste, and lead root cause analyses. The role offers exposure to Lean and Six Sigma concepts in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or product engineering.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and process improvement techniques.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Evaluate production methods and recommend process improvements to reduce waste and increase performance.
  • Establish standardized work instructions and process documentation.
  • Support new product introductions from concept through production.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Validate manufacturing processes and ensure production readiness.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization using Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues.
  • Drive initiatives to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams to resolve production challenges.
  • Monitor process performance and implement improvements based on production data.
  • Assist with equipment selection, installation, and process validation.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Support process audits, documentation, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with quality teams to maintain product consistency and reliability.
  • Partner with production, maintenance, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate technical recommendations effectively.
  • Support ongoing engineering and operational improvement initiatives.

Position Responsibilities

Prerequisites
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Experience with root cause analysis, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.

  • Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE).
  • Additional engineering or quality-related certifications.
