Job summary

Smalley is seeking a Product Pricing Analyst to join the Product Management team in the Lake Zurich, IL area. The role focuses on evaluating customer pricing proposals, validating cost inputs, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability.

You will collaborate with Estimating, Sales, Customer Service, Engineering and Operations to develop pricing strategies and support commercial agreements. A Bachelor's in accounting/finance with data analysis skills is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1–2 years of experience in Accounting or Finance with data analysis.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 with strong Excel skills.
• Manufacturing experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze customer pricing proposals and Smalley cost inputs.
• Develop sales, pricing and margin strategy as a key Estimating Team member.
• Engage in sales pricing and contract negotiations.
• Support Estimating, Sales, Customer Service, Engineering and Operations.
• Develop pricing strategies involving foreign affiliates and distributors.
• Cost validation and documentation with key customers.

Common types of customer requests include contract proposals, pricing agreements, cost breakdown requests, capacity inquiries and other strategic business opportunities. The Product Pricing Analyst will also validate system costs, identify and track cost outliers and determine strategies to help improve company profitability.
