Job description

This position is a core FEI (Front End Innovation) + AD (Advanced Development) innovation role, completely distinct from mass production PDM iterative implementation work. It focuses on cross-category new small appliance products, cross-technology integration innovation, and tackling unknown scenario pain points, emphasizing scenario-driven early-stage development rather than limiting to existing product iterations. The core responsibility is the 0-to-1 incubation of disruptive products for the next 1-3 years, solving industry pain points such as traditional product function rigidity, category homogeneity, and limited usage scenarios through real user life scenario analysis, competitive landscape forecasting, cutting-edge technology integration, and multiple prototype validations. It aims to overcome technical uncertainties in advance, build exclusive brand technology and scenario barriers, and support the company’s differentiated and breakthrough product innovation strategy.

Main Responsibilities
  • Scenario Pain Point Exploration and New Category Definition (Core): Based on scenario innovation logic, deeply analyze the full user journey of small appliance usage, identify functional limitations, category gaps, and hidden pain points of traditional products. Combine market competitive landscape and user consumption trends to produce scenario insight reports, break traditional category boundaries, define cross-category innovative new categories, new functions, and new experience opportunities, and complete early category strategic layout.
  • FEI Front-End Innovation Solution Incubation: Lead the full process of front-end innovation from 0 to 1, including creative brainstorming, scenario modeling, product positioning refinement, core value extraction, differentiation positioning, clarifying product core competitive advantages, delivering complete new product concept solutions and scenario-based product definition documents, and building the company’s innovation product reserve pool to provide core basis for subsequent project initiation.
  • AD Advanced Engineering Research and Technical Challenges: Conduct advanced research on cross-technology integration, new interaction technologies, and other cutting-edge technologies. Independently complete prototype building, preliminary CBOM sorting, and technical feasibility verification; anticipate mass production risks and cost ranges in advance; solve the core issue of “concept feasibility but difficult implementation” in innovation projects; overcome early-stage technical uncertainties and clear all technical obstacles for mass production development.
  • Scenario-Driven Reverse Product Definition: Different from traditional parameter-driven development, use the user’s final usage scenario and experience outcome as the sole criterion to reverse-define product performance indicators, structural design, configuration, logic, functional programs, and interaction experience standards. Build a complete innovation closed loop of “scenario pain points → user needs → technical solutions → product implementation → ultimate experience” to create differentiated innovative products.
  • Prototype Iteration and Scenario-Based Testing Verification: Lead innovative prototype model building, multiple iterations, real scenario testing, and small user group testing; optimize and refine core aspects such as product feel, efficiency, capacity, and operation experience; verify the authenticity, practicality, and differentiation advantages of innovation selling points; select the best product configuration plan to ensure new product experience far exceeds industry competitors.
  • Cross-Department Innovation Collaboration and Project Handover: Coordinate with user insights, industrial design, engineering R&D, marketing, and supply chain teams; synchronize front-end innovation results and test data; transform scenario-based innovation solutions and mature technical solutions into standardized product requirements; seamlessly connect with mass production development teams to complete the full chain handover from front-end innovation to mass production implementation.
  • Competitive Benchmarking and Industry Iteration Tracking: Continuously deepen research in the small appliance consumer goods sector; benchmark global mainstream competitors’ cost, timeliness, capacity, core technologies, and user experience; review competitors’ advantages and disadvantages; combine industry technology iteration trends to produce forward-looking analysis reports; continuously explore category innovation gaps; support the company’s long-term product strategy upgrade.
  • Innovation Project Review and Methodology Consolidation: Manage progress control, risk forecasting, and problem-solving of uncertain innovation projects; flexibly adjust plans according to industry environment and project challenges; conduct rapid trial and error and efficient iteration; complete full-process innovation project reviews; standardize scenario-driven innovation, advanced research, and prototype verification methodologies; consolidate company innovation technology assets.
Qualifications

Work Experience: Over 6 years of experience in FEI front-end innovation, AD advanced engineering research, and 0-to-1 disruptive product incubation in the home and small appliance consumer product industry; experienced in scenario-driven cross-category product innovation, prototype iteration, technical challenges, and competitive differentiation benchmarking; familiarity with small appliance structural innovation preferred; extra points for experience in cross-category innovation projects in export kitchen heating appliances.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Electronic Engineering, Consumer Behavior, Product Innovation, or related fields, with solid engineering principles and product innovation knowledge.
  • Core Competencies: Top-level ability in scenario analysis and hidden pain point excavation; capable of breaking traditional category thinking and independently defining new categories and new scenario innovations; proficient in advanced engineering research, prototype building, and technical feasibility verification methods; skilled in solving uncertain technical challenges in innovation projects.
  • Innovation Ability: Strong differentiated innovation thinking; not limited to product iteration optimization; adept at creating cross-category disruptive products from 0 to 1; able to independently refine innovation plans, benchmark competitors, and extract core values; possess complete front-end innovation project implementation results.
  • Industry Insight: Deep understanding of small appliance product sector innovation logic; expert in scenario-driven development versus traditional parameter-driven development; familiar with mainstream industry competitor technologies, costs, experience shortcomings; accurately capture market innovation gaps.
  • Comprehensive Qualities: Strong stress resistance and rapid iteration thinking; adaptable to uncertainty, dynamic demand adjustments, and sudden technical challenge resolution in innovation projects; excellent cross-department collaboration, logical structuring, and senior-level reporting skills; capable of independently delivering innovation plans and strategic recommendations.
  • Plus Points: Experience in pioneer development of small appliance refrigeration/heating/blending products and cross-category innovation; possession of product innovation patents and innovation project awards; proficient in prototype development, scenario testing, and user experience verification processes.
