Job description

At Casey's, we believe our team members are the heart of everything we do. From the stores that serve our guests every day to the teams supporting our business behind the scenes, we're committed to creating exceptional experiences that help our people thrive.

We're looking for a Product Owner to join our Team Member Experience (TMX) team and help shape the digital products, tools, and solutions that support thousands of Casey's team members across our organization. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to partner with business leaders, technology teams, and end users to turn ideas into meaningful experiences that make work simpler, more efficient, and more engaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the product manager and business stakeholders to understand business goals. Work closely with the product manager and business stakeholders to manage intake of requests, research and clarify expected outcomes, and prioritize components of work.
  • Enable digital capabilities to drive engaging experiences across Web, App, and Marketing channels including our Casey’s Access Media Network. Focusing on: Loyalty, Personalization, and Omnichannel Marketing
  • Work closely with the product manager to understand and contribute to product vision.
  • Collaborate with engineering to assist with decision making and prioritization of technical infrastructure work.
  • Utilize data to understand guest needs and behaviors and transform that knowledge into platform enhancements and new features.
  • Drive day-to-day relationships with vendors holding their roadmaps, contracts, and bug queues accountable to ours.
  • Responsible for backlog & sprint health. Story decomposition, acceptance criteria, definition of done, and sprint hygiene — the discipline that lets a scrum team ship clean work every two weeks instead of fighting fires.
  • Build stakeholder partnerships. Intake, alignment, and clear status comms with business owners across the enterprise. Run the readiness conversations that get a release across the line.
  • Ensure successful launch readiness for initiatives through pre-release reviews, user acceptance signoffs, and defect triage that minimizes disruption and delivers a seamless experience for team members from day one.
  • Process consistency. Work closely with other product owners to ensure consistency in execution and responsibilities within the agile delivery teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • This position requires authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future. Casey’s will not provide sponsorship or employer support for applications or petitions for F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, J-1, or any other employment-based visa.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work-related experience is required.
  • Five (5) years of direct work experience in product ownership. Certified in Scrum Product Ownership (CSPO), a plus.
  • Experience with Collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Mural, Aha, etc.).
  • Backlog & delivery discipline. You’ve spent time as a Product Owner — writing the stories engineers want to pick up, running a backlog that reflects the world as it is today (not last quarter), and keeping a scrum team out of the weeds. Jira and Confluence are second nature. Smartsheet's doesn’t scare you. SAFe or scrum cadence is familiar territory.
  • Stakeholder & business partnership. Comfortable saying “not this sprint” without burning a bridge. You can write an exec status update with confidence, run a business-readiness meeting without scripts, and translate between business goals and engineering reality without losing either side.
  • Technical & systems mindset. You have experience working alongside engineering teams to deliver enterprise applications and understand how data, integrations, workflows, and user experiences come together across multiple systems.
  • The Casey’s fit. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation. Detail oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously. Passionate about the needs of the guest. Team oriented. Good at both planning and tactical execution. Collaborative and open to new ideas.

This role does not allow for 100% remote work. Qualified candidates must live within a daily commutable distance of Casey's Store Support Center in Ankeny, IA and be willing to work onsite 5 days per week.

Compensation

Starting pay range: $91,600-120,200. Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the typical hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.
