Job summary

Avion Solutions, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks an Air and Missile Defense TIS SW Development Team Product Owner to prioritize and guide software for the TIS team, advise leadership, and align with program priorities.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years DoD experience, strong SCRUM/Agile skills, and the ability to coordinate with senior engineers while ensuring acceptance criteria are met; travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics required.
• Minimum of 10 years combined Government/DoD experience.
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

• Must be able to work directly with Agile software developers.

Avion Solutions Inc., a 100% employee-owned company, seeks candidates for an Air and Missile Defense (AMD) TIS SW Development Team Product Owner (PO) to support PAE Fires. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Prioritize and validate the development of software for the TIS team.

• Identify and classify tracks in the C2 (Command and Control) software.

• Review and understand Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms, and provide guidance to the development team.

• Work with Program management in setting priorities for the capabilities and defects of the team for each product increment and sprint.

• The position will include technical briefings and advisement to leadership on the status and recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts on the mission.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics required.

• Minimum of 10 years combined Government/DoD experience required.

• Fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset.

• Understand CID (Classification, Identification, and Discrimination) used in C2 systems, including IFF, ADS-B, Air Tasking Orders, and NCTR.

• Must have the ability to provide oversight to the development team and verify the team's work based on agreed-upon acceptance criteria, including attending code reviews.

• Must be able to work directly with the Agile software developers.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.

• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS and familiarity with current CID measures in one or more of the DoD services.

• Prior Product Owner experience on a SCRUM team.
