Job summary

DTCC is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to bridge business and technology for observability enhancements across migration programs. You will document requirements, define dashboards, KPIs, alerts, and ensure data accuracy while collaborating with EDA, Autosys, and platform SMEs.

Responsibilities

• Act as bridge between business and technical teams by translating business needs into clear technical requirements.
• Gather, analyze, and document end-to-end business, technical, and observability requirements, including dashboards, KPIs, alerts, logs, metrics, and traces.
• Define and manage the product backlog (user stories, acceptance criteria, priorities) ensuring alignment with business value and migration goals.
• Evaluate existing infrastructure, applications, monitoring tools, and processes to identify improvement opportunities, migration impacts, and integration needs.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering, development, SRE, cloud, and architecture teams while collaborating with platform SMEs.
• Lead planning and execution of migration phases such as discovery, mapping, instrumentation updates, dashboard conversion, alert tuning, testing, and cutover.
• Validate migrated observability components to ensure data accuracy and proper dashboard functionality.
• Document new standards, governance processes, and migration playbooks to support long-term observability maturity.

DTCC offers a flexible/hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and a third day unique to each team or employee).

The Impact you will have in this role:

The Strategic Management & Governance family is responsible for serving as a dedicated technology resource for advancing the firm's business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technologies. Manages significant programs and projects including strategic change management, new business and product initiatives, process re‑engineering, and all general business management initiatives. The Business Systems Analysis role specializes in acting as the primary interface between Technology and specific business / product areas, identifying, documenting and analyzing business requirements, creating detailed project and process specifications, coordinating with project teams. The Senior Business Systems Analyst role specializes in acting as the main interface between Technology and specific business / product areas, identifying, documenting and analyzing business requirements, crafting functional specifications for the project's development teams.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

• Act as a bridge between business and technical teams by translating business needs into clear technical and migration requirements.
• Gather, analyze, and document end‑to‑end business, technical, and observability requirements, including dashboards, KPIs, alerts, logs, metrics, and traces.
• Define and manage the product backlog (user stories, acceptance criteria, priorities) ensuring alignment with business value, feasibility, and migration goals.
• Evaluate existing infrastructure, applications, monitoring tools, and processes to identify improvement opportunities, migration impacts, and integration needs.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering, development, SRE, cloud, and architecture teams while collaborating closely with EDA, Autosys, and other platform SMEs.
• Lead planning and execution of migration phases such as discovery, mapping, instrumentation updates, dashboard conversion, alert tuning, testing, and cutover.
• Validate migrated observability components to ensure data accuracy, correct ingestion, proper dashboard functionality, reliable alerting, and SLO/SLI alignment.
• Document new standards, specifications, naming conventions, governance processes, and migration playbooks to support long‑term observability maturity.
• Communicate progress, risks, blockers, and system performance to senior leadership while ensuring compliance, transparency, and collaboration across teams.
• Support users during and after migration through training, troubleshooting, knowledge transfer, and by helping decommission legacy monitoring tools once fully migrated.

Talents Needed for Success:

• Have implemented observability or Monitoring/Alerting
• Have deeper understanding of its capabilities on any of the widely used platforms like Grafana, Splunk, Datadog or Dynatrace.
• Strong understanding of software development, technical architecture, infrastructure, cloud-based solutions and methodologies.
• Problem solver and be able to articulate how the application observability was defined both from reactive and proactive observability standards.
• Solid attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in delivering outputs within deadlines
• Proficiency in creating detailed technical documentation, process maps, and flowcharts.
