Job summary

Aspen Technology, Inc. in Houston is seeking a mid-level Product Owner to join the Manufacturing and Supply Chain (MSC) group, helping shape next-generation refinery and petrochemical optimization solutions.

You will blend software development, mathematical modeling, and a product-minded approach, collaborating with Product Management and Designers to define features, use cases, and workflows that meet real customer needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with SAFe Agile or similar frameworks.
• Experience in software for modeling, control and optimization of chemicals, oil & gas, and/or refining processes.
• Strong background in numerical methods, mathematical modeling, and optimization.
• Solid programming experience in C#/.NET; C++ is a plus.
• Understanding refinery, petrochemical, or chemical processes workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and support MSC software features.
• Provide technical leadership for software projects in modeling and optimization.
• Collaborate with Product Management to define feature requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Contribute to feature and use-case development aligning with customer workflows and priorities.
• Understand refinery and petrochemical workflows and translate into practical software solutions.
• Participate in SAFe Agile events to support team alignment.
• Improve usability and clarity of product features through feedback and design refinement.
• Support maintenance, debugging, and enhancement of the codebase for stability.
