JOB OVERVIEW

Responsible for the success of the product by maximizing the output of the development team within a scrum framework. Responsible for ordering backlog, clearly expressing the product backlog items, ordering the items to best achieve goals and optimize the value of the work the team performs. Lead collaboration, facilitate sprint activities, and create and communicate requirements artifacts that translate business needs into executable requirements. Work closely with business stakeholders, product/project managers, and technical teams to understand, analyze, refine, prioritize, and communicate needs to ensure full understanding of project scope, objectives, and requirements. Develop and adapt the product vision, writing new user stories, and specify acceptance of each user story.

This Product Owner will play a key role in the development of one of Net Health’s leading specialized EHR solutions, with an area of ownership in healthcare API integration centric product features.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Backlog Ownership and Prioritization
    • Creates the epics, stories and acceptance criteria that make up the backlog.
    • Defines value for product deliverables and communicating objectives to the team in a manner that sparks innovative thought and creative problem solving.
    • Continuously prioritizes incoming business and client requests for backlog prioritization sprint planning.
    • Triages product issues as they come in to prioritize against feature delivery and works with development teams to resolve.
    • Prioritizes the development backlog and create execution plans to drive user value and deliver features per priority from the Product Manager.
    • Work with peer Product Owners and technical leaders regarding cross-team dependencies and appropriate scheduling and prioritization of dependent work.
  • Sprint Execution
    • Actively participates and/or leads daily scrum meetings, project/program status meetings, sprint planning, sprint reviews and other agile ceremonies for at least one team.
    • Conducts story refinement/grooming sessions with development and QA to ensure consistent understanding of the requirements and to gather estimates.
    • Accepts/rejects the delivered work from within each Sprint and accepts the feature increment before delivery to users.
    • Presents the team’s sprint work to non-technical stakeholders for continuous feedback and end user training.
    • Continuously deploys code to end users and manages feature release strategy including operational tasks, internal training and feature toggles rollouts.
  • Develops Product expertise in the teams area of ownership for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develops an understanding of the target market and user base and contributes to product decisions.
  • Understands the product strategy and product scope (roadmap) and works with Product Managers to execute and deliver priorities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and clients for product feedback and recommends capabilities to enhance and expand product line to meet strategic business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical or business field.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) certification required.
  • Technical background preferred; experience in a software engineering, data analysis, or similar technical role.
  • Familiarity with interoperability solutions, healthcare APIs (e.g., FHIR, HL7), API integrations, or related healthcare data integrations is a plus.

REQUIRED SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE

  • Proficient with Agile management tool (i.e., Jira, Confluence, Aha and Wiki)
  • Proficient in Office 365 suite (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Basic understanding of database querying using SQL
  • Basic understanding of coding languages (i.e., HTML, CSS, C#, ASP.Ne

Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 USD
