You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to prioritize work, guide solution design, and drive value through agile practices. As MISO transitions from a project-based structure to a product operating model, you'll bring clarity, advocate for user-centered outcomes, and help define what great product ownership looks like in a complex and rapidly evolving environment. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration, continuous improvement, and building the structure needed to support long-term product success.

What you'll do as MISO's Product Owner II:

  • Lead discovery targeted questioning, workflow analysis, and close collaboration with operators and SMEs to prioritize essential research.
  • Serve as a product evangelist by aligning cross-functional teams around objectives and outcomes.
  • Apply Agile and product mindset to foster adaptability, learning, and user-centered thinking while empowering teams and improving delivery practices.
  • Connect product decisions to user workflows, outcomes, and business objectives, anticipating emerging needs and aligning initiatives with strategic goals.
  • Build business cases, maintain and prioritize the backlog, validate completed work, and lead release planning, solution definition, innovation efforts, and communication across stakeholders.
  • Identify complex insights from product metrics, develop new measures when needed, and use data to guide product direction.
  • Champion responsible, highvalue use of AI to enhance product management practices, improve analysis, and accelerate value delivery.
  • Promote innovation, identifying improvement opportunities and creative solutions that advance realtime communication, shared awareness, logging accuracy, and readiness.

Experience/Qualifications we are looking for as our Product Owner II:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, (or 4 years relevant work experience equivalency); 3-6 years of experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis, systems engineering or related experience.
  • Proven experience shaping and driving product vision and roadmaps.
  • Strong servant leadership skills with the ability to facilitate collaboration, resolve conflicts, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of software development concepts and Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with user experience best practices and translating business needs into effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience applying AI tools in product management to improve productivity, analysis, and workflow.
  • Energy industry experience is a plus.
  • Preferred/nice to have (not required): Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager AND/OR PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner
