Liberty Mutual is hiring a Product Owner I for Data Science Platforms in a hybrid environment across the US. You will represent data scientists’ needs, shape roadmaps, track platform metrics, and translate insights into actionable capabilities while collaborating with engineers, architects, and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes AI/ML literacy, data-focused decision making, and delivering reusable platform solutions to improve data science workflows and adoption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of Product Owner experience.
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and product management practices.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, using data and customer insights to identify opportunities and inform decisions.
• Ability to build strong working relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Curiosity and an experimental mindset, with willingness to learn new technologies.
• Interest in data science, machine learning, AI, data platforms, or developer/platform experiences.
• Experience working with data, analytics, data science, software engineering, or technology platforms preferred.
• Familiarity with modern data and AI technologies such as AWS, Azure, Databricks or similar platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Represent the voice of Data Scientists and other platform users, understanding workflows and pain points.
• Shape product strategy and roadmaps using insights, analytics, and priorities.
• Develop and use product metrics to understand platform usage and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and architects to translate needs into capabilities.
• Gather feedback and use data to inform prioritization and decisions.
• Support evaluation and adoption of technologies that improve data science lifecycle.
• Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and increase adoption of reusable capabilities.
• Maintain prioritized product backlogs with clear features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in quarterly planning, demos, retrospectives, and Agile ceremonies.
