Job summary

HID Global is seeking a Product Owner for BLE/LF RTLS tags based in Eden Prairie, MN, to drive hardware-centric product features from concept to market. You will collaborate with engineering, QA, operations and cloud teams to define MVPs, acceptance criteria, and roadmaps for BLE/LF tag devices and related infrastructure.

The role emphasizes Agile practices, value-stream improvements, and strong stakeholder communication across manufacturing, healthcare, and logistics use cases.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering design, product management, and/or product ownership of hardware products.
  • Strong hardware and RF technical background, familiarity with electrical design, mechanical design, firmware, QA/testing, and manufacturing/operations.
  • Experience in Agile frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Gather market requirements for industrial/manufacturing and healthcare users and generate product features with acceptance criteria for tag hardware (electrical design, mechanical design, firmware, device management).
  • Work with development and operations teams to build product features, ensure acceptance criteria are met, and release features to market (electrical design (PCBA), mechanical design, firmware, QA/testing, manufacturing, operations, cloud engineering).
  • Manage product roadmaps for BLE/LF tags.
  • Collaborate with fixed‑infrastructure (gateways / exciters) POs and cloud software POs to develop full solutions.
  • Score and rank features for prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Work with product managers to manage epics and define MVPs.
  • Define user personas, empathy maps, and user journeys.
  • Work with the Customer Experience (CX) team on product support documentation and customer support.
  • Work with the sales teams for voice‑of‑the‑customer, product training, and sales enablement.
  • Drive organizational change through program increment planning and improving Agile tools and methodologies.

Product Owner - BLE/LF Tags

Who are we?

HID’s Identification Technologies powers the trusted identities of the world’s people, places and things through smart components and cloud services.

The position will be responsible for product ownership of real-time location services (RTLS) tags using (but not limited to) Bluetooth low-energy (BLE) and low-frequency (LF) radio technologies. This includes tags that interact with fixed infrastructure (gateways / exciters) and mobile devices, and are used with cloud solutions.

The role includes gathering market requirements for RTLS use‑cases in industrial and healthcare applications, converting these requirements into features for development teams, and working with the development teams to build these features and bring them to market. The role also participates in program increment planning (feature generation, value‑ranking, prioritization, and resource allocation). The suitable candidate will work with other product owners and product managers to drive organizational improvements, especially in the area of Agile frameworks, development value streams, and operational value streams.

Your Experience and Background include:
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering design, product management, and/or product ownership of hardware products.
  • Strong hardware and RF technical background, familiarity with electrical design, mechanical design, firmware, QA/testing, and manufacturing/operations.
  • Experience in Agile frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and technical skills to develop relationships with business leaders, developers, sales, customers and channel partners, and customer support personnel.
  • Ability to communicate and write in the English language effectively and verbally.
  • Experience working with RTLS preferred.
  • Experience in working with industrial, manufacturing, and/or healthcare facilities preferred.

The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range does not account for geographic differentials based on the location where the position may be filled. At HID, it is uncommon for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the range. Final compensation decisions depend on the specific facts and circumstances of each case.

The base salary in the United States is $120,000 to $130,000.
