Job summary

Ethereum Technologies in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Product Owner – Ontology to lead the development and adoption of an enterprise semantic layer across mortgage origination, servicing, data, and AI platforms.

You will translate complex business concepts into governed domain models, collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, risk and compliance, and AI developers to establish consistent semantic standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8–10 years of overall experience, with at least 5 years in product management, business analysis, or data product ownership.
• Experience delivering semantic modeling, ontology, domain-modeling, or knowledge-representation solutions.
• Strong understanding of ontology concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own the ontology product vision, roadmap, backlog, release planning, and adoption strategy.
• Define and maintain enterprise domain models, entity relationships, class hierarchies, taxonomies, vocabularies, constraints, and semantic standards.
• Establish ontology governance practices, including stewardship, versioning, change control, impact assessment, data lineage, and quality metrics.
• Collaborate with SMEs, data engineers, architects, and risk/compliance teams to map source systems and validate semantic models.
• Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, competency questions, acceptance criteria, and production validation tests.
• Enable governed semantic grounding for knowledge graphs, analytics platforms, LLMs, and AI agents.
• Ensure ontology models support data permissions, traceability, auditability, and enterprise governance.
• Manage complex, cross-functional initiatives across multiple systems and departments.
• Identify opportunities to optimize processes and streamline workflows through technology solutions.
• Drive stakeholder alignment and promote ontology adoption across business and technology teams.

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner – Ontology to lead the development and adoption of an enterprise semantic layer across mortgage origination, servicing, data, and AI platforms. The ideal candidate will translate complex business concepts into governed, reusable domain models that support enterprise applications, analytics, knowledge graphs, and agentic AI workflows.

The Product Owner will collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, enterprise architects, risk and compliance teams, and AI developers to establish consistent business definitions, semantic standards, and reusable ontology models across integrated systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the ontology product vision, roadmap, backlog, release planning, and adoption strategy.
• Define and maintain enterprise domain models, entity relationships, class hierarchies, taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, constraints, and semantic standards.
• Establish ontology governance practices, including stewardship, versioning, change control, impact assessment, data lineage, and quality metrics.
• Collaborate with business subject matter experts, data engineers, architects, and risk and compliance teams to map source systems and validate semantic models.
• Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, competency questions, acceptance criteria, and production validation tests.
• Enable governed semantic grounding for knowledge graphs, analytics platforms, large language models (LLMs), and AI agents.
• Ensure ontology models support appropriate data permissions, traceability, auditability, and enterprise governance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8–10 years of overall relevant professional experience, with at least 5 years in product management, business analysis, or data product ownership.
• Experience delivering semantic modeling, ontology, domain-modeling, or knowledge-representation solutions.
