Job description

As passionate about our people as we are about our mission.

Why Join Q2?

Q2 is a leading provider of digital banking and lending solutions to banks, credit unions, alternative finance companies, and fintechs in the U.S. and internationally. Our mission is simple: build strong and diverse communities through innovative financial technology—and we do that by empowering our people to help create success for our customers.

What Makes Q2 Special?

Being as passionate about our people as we are about our mission. We celebrate our employees in many ways through our year-round Q2 ChangeMakers awards program and global moments of recognition and connection. We invest in the growth and development of our team members through ongoing learning opportunities, internal mobility, and meaningful leadership relationships. We also know that nothing builds trust and collaboration like having fun and giving back together. From company-wide volunteer days to events like our Q2 Homecoming Week—featuring learning, community service, and culture-building experiences—we create opportunities to connect, grow, and make an impact.

Our Team

The Fraud Intelligence team at Q2 is responsible for helping our customers take a proactive stance against fraud and managing the risks of their business. We build and enhance products that evolve with the ever-changing fraud landscape, delivering tangible value for our customers. Our solutions enable them to focus more of their time and energy on their mission: best serving their customers and communities.

The Role

As a Product Owner on the team, you will develop a deep understanding of our customers and the fraud challenges they face. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineering leaders to refine and prioritize product features. A key part of the role will be communicating business requirements clearly to Engineering teams. Critical tasks include breaking projects down so they’re ready to be worked, leading sprint planning sessions to connect our priorities to execution, and validating shipped features meet the definition of done.

You are more likely to excel in the role if you:
  • Enjoy autonomy in your work and feel a sense of ownership in the team’s goals. You work quickly but with the big picture in mind.
  • Thrive working across technical and non-technical teams
  • Have enthusiasm for the field and professional development.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner (or similar role)
  • Experience connecting priorities to business outcomes and translating those priorities to clear work for the team
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and align stakeholders across business and technical teams
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with customers
  • Experience using AI tools in your work
  • Bonus: familiarity with the financial industry and fraud prevention products
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Align with Product & Delivery leadership to prioritize product backlog.
  • Define product functionality and write detailed user stories/epics with end-user empathy.
  • Manage sprints: planning, review, and acceptance of completed work.
  • Apply Agile methods to encourage disciplined software development and frequent inspection.
  • Articulate product vision and user stories clearly to teams and clients.
  • Deliver product acceptance criteria and ensure quality delivery.
  • Drive Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and roadmap execution.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Bachelor’s degree; 2–5 years of related experience.
  • Technical background with backend integrations, APIs, and scalable solutions.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodology and process management.
  • Proven ability to manage complex rollouts with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence).
  • Comfortable working across distributed teams.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility guidelines (WCAG) applied across product, design, and engineering to support inclusive user experiences.

This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.

Mission

Q2’s mission is to build strong and diverse communities by strengthening their financial institutions. That mission shapes the technology we build, how we serve our customers, and how we show up for each other.

Vision

We started with a straightforward belief: technology could fundamentally change how financial institutions serve their communities. More than 20 years later, that belief still drives us. Q2 delivers digital banking and lending solutions that help financial institutions deepen relationships, improve experiences, and grow.

Across every department and region, Q2 team members bring creativity, collaboration, and purpose to building technology that makes banking stronger, easier, and more human.

Culture & Values

Q2’s culture is built by Q2ers and grounded in ten guiding principles that define how we show up for each other, our customers, and our communities. We take our mission seriously. We also have fun doing it. Teams across the company work together to solve hard problems, move quickly, and make a real impact on the financial institutions and communities we serve. We’re also helping shape how AI is applied in financial services, bringing the same disciplined, banking‑first approach Q2 has practiced for more than 20 years to this next chapter of innovation.
